tour diary

patient tour

...So almost a week later on the eve of our album tour and tonight nothings real. The make believe streets are made of plasticine, this not-cold, not-hot weather is blowing an omen wind down my shirt. If I had to screenplay tonight it would be close to impossible. The light clouds of the mid-blue night, the empty car park on City Road stands still, well lit breathing in the almost fresh air of the night. The city just down that road sighing after today's profitable memos and what not. Blue night and I feel untouchable, hail stones the size of planets couldn't crush my wonder. Walking home through the city after an interview on JJJ with Richard Kingsmill. I've got a million words running through my head but none of them make it out alive they all get lost somewhere up there before I get to a pad. The light blue/white puffy whipped cream clouds sing me to sleep on this strange eve of the night before forever.

Night Two - Charles Sturt Uni. - WAGGA WAGGA

So here we are kiddies after the cold drive down south seven hours from Sydney — WAGGA WAGGA. They don't like it if you only say WAGGA once in this place, it's WAGGA WAGGA, mate. This place is so exciting that I'm gonna write WAGGA as WAGGA WAGGA in BIG letters for many reasons:

a) 'cause nothing much happened and I've gotta fill space,

b) nothing much ever happens 'round here, ever, ever so b./ is actually very similar to a. and

c) basically nothing happened in WAGGA WAGGA last night to merit any words.

The first band sounded like a grunge band, can't remember what they were called. They played to four security guards and two bar staff, the room was pumping!!! The security guys were playing 'Connect Four'; that's how little was going down. So we left to get food and were lucky to return alive with every car pulling up beside us full of red necks staring at me with the 'I'm gonna kill you and eat your friends' look I always get. Come to think of it, something of merit did happen tonight...

Upon entering the band room, which was actually a change room of some sort for the graduation coming up and was filled with underpants and socks, I found our 'rider' to be more than adequate. We had finally received a bottle vodka after asking for it for about two and a half years. We all stood and felt the bottle but couldn't partake of its contents due to the fact that after the gig we have to drive straight to Adelaide as we have a gig in the afternoon at the S.A Music Awards. So we played after Art of Fighting who also have to drive to Adelaide tonight. The set was action packed like a mid-day soapy on Nine. People weren't sure what to do with themselves. We had a hand full of crazy dancers but they quickly died out as the night wore on and on.

The set was: None of us remember this set either so if any one has a set list from that night please write it up and email it to bbkinfo@bluebottlekiss.com

Tomorrow night I swear I will have a set list for you. Anyhooo after the gig we loaded in the Tarago slowly and took off on the road from WAGGA WAGGA to Adelaide. My head already feels like a watermelon seed. So these diaries could well possibly deteriorate into mush.
